Fold: a calm origami-style folding puzzle

Fold is a quiet little logic puzzle about paper. You are given a sheet marked with a grid of creases, and scattered across it are pairs of coloured marks: a solid dot and a matching hollow ring. Your job is to fold the paper along its creases until every dot comes to rest exactly on top of its own ring. It looks simple, and the first few levels are, but folding a dot toward one ring often carries three other marks somewhere you did not intend, and learning to read those knock-on effects is the whole game. It is the kind of puzzle you can dip into for one quick level or lose half an hour to, with a soft, papery feel and no timer rushing you.

How to play

Tap a crease line and the smaller side of the paper folds over onto the larger side, just like folding a real sheet. Everything on the flap you fold, paper and marks alike, flips over and stacks onto the layer beneath it. Keep folding until each dot sits on its ring.

• Fold: tap or click on any crease line. The smaller flap always folds over the crease onto the rest of the sheet.
• Match: a pair is solved when its dot and ring end up in the same square. A white halo appears when they meet.
• Undo: made a fold you regret? Use the Undo button to step back one fold at a time.
• Restart: unfold the whole sheet and start the level fresh.

Solve every pair and the level is complete. Your progress is saved automatically, so you always pick up where you left off.

Why it gets clever

Each fold reflects part of the paper, so the marks on the moving flap end up mirrored. A fold that lands one dot on its ring can pull another pair apart, and a stack of folds compounds those reflections. The best solutions are rarely the most obvious first move. As you climb the levels the sheet grows larger and the number of pairs increases, but the gentle curve means every step forward still feels fair.

Tips

• Look at where a dot and its ring sit relative to the crease between them. A single fold on that line often snaps them together.
• Plan a couple of folds ahead. Track where a mark will travel, not just where it is now.
• Do not be afraid to Undo. Fold is about experimenting, and stepping back costs you nothing.
• If a level looks tangled, try to solve the pair that is furthest from centre first, then work inward.
